What is RAHousing?
RAHousing (RAH) is a community-driven online housing platform which connects student tenants across North America to Housing Providers.

Our services include but are not limited to Property Listings, Housing Reviews, Housing History Check, Housing Score, Tenant's Housing Recommendation, Online Payments, Housing News, etc.
Who is a housing provider?
Housing provider can be a landlord, an owner, lessor, sublessor, assignee, or their agent, or any other person receiving or entitled to receive rents or benefits for the use or occupancy of any rental unit within a housing accommodation.
What is a housing history?
Tenant account: list of places you have lived in and housing recommendations from your housing providers.

Landlord account: reviews given by your tenants on your claimed properties.
What is a housing score?
It is a numerical measurement of the housing history calculated through RAH’s algorithm.
What are the benefits of having a housing score?
Similar to a credit score, it represents the trustworthiness of a tenant or housing provider. A good housing score increases the chances of finding or renting a place.
How can I improve my housing score?

Why should I use RAHousing?
RAHousing promotes safe renting practices for tenants and housing providers across North America through shared experiences. These experiences help other tenants and housing providers make informed choices and encourage better housing facilities.

What is the difference between a tenant and a landlord account?
A tenant is the occupant of a rental space. A landlord is the person or property management that oversees a rental space. The main differences are:

A tenant account can:
Post a listing and find sub-tenant or roommate.
Submit housing reviews.
Pay rent online through credit card, debit card, etc.

A landlord account can:
Post a listing and find tenant.
Write recommendations about tenants.
Collect rent online.

Common services such as viewing housing histories, housing scores, housing news feed, manage documents, sign documents, calendar, tracking rental payments, etc. are available to both accounts.
Does RAHousing promote housing providers to tenants or vice versa?
RAHousing is not associate with any housing providers or tenants. Users are responsible to research well in advance before choosing a tenant/housing provider.

My university/college is not currently covered by RAH.
Please contact us. Our 24/7 customer care service will help set-up new university/college.
I have finished my studies and no longer have a university/college email. What do I do?
You can update your email address. This change will update your student account to a non-student account.


Why am I being asked to pay for services if I am a student?
If you are a student, whether you are looking to rent or to sublet, you need to register with your valid student email ID under “Student/Tenant” account. Check Student Coverage.

If you are registered under a landlord account or with a regular email, the platform will assume you are not a student. RAH services are free to all students and verified housing providers only.
How can I apply for 30 days of trial services?
You will need to make sure that your RAH profile setting is complete and updated (i.e., current status, date of birth, phone number, etc.). This aspect is vital because RAH work with student tenants, and this information helps prevent fake listings or rental scams.

Once your RAH profile setting is complete, you can request for a 30 days trial at . Click on the "Request For Trial” button. A trial coupon will be issued to your account via email within 24 hours.

When adding a listing, make sure to click on the "I Have Trial Coupon” button, which will allow you to publish one listing valid for 90 days. All other services will be available to use during this period.
RAH Pin
What is a RAH Pin?
It is an unique nine-digit code generated by RAH to identify each registered account. The RAH Pin can be used to share information about your account to potential tenants or housing providers.

It is highly suggested to not share your RAH pin with any unknown person.
Where can I find my RAH Pin?
If you have an account with RAH, you can find your pin in the Settings page at the right top corner.


Can I change my RAH pin?
Yes, the RAH pin can be changed through your Settings. However, the history stored in your RAH Pin will remain on your account.
My RAH Pin was hacked. Someone is utilizing it without my consent.
If you suspect your RAH Pin is being misused, please contact RAH.

Note that whenever your RAH Pin is used, RAH sends you a notification through your feeds.
Accounts
Do I need to verify my account to access all RAH services?
Yes, you do.

Student-tenant accounts are verified automatically through their university email ID whereas landlord accounts verification process is different.

In order to successfully setup your RAH landlord account, you will need to provide the following information:

Property Address
Social Security number (SIN)
Valid bank details

We take your privacy and the security of your data very seriously. RAH does not share your information with any third-party companies except STRIPE for a secure payment channel. This information is only used for rent payments. Check Stripe's Privacy Policy.
How can a landlord verify his account?
Only landlords are requested to verify their account in order to access free services. To verify your account, you will need to go to your . Click on on right top corner. It will ask for your bank account details, SIN and personal address. This information is confidential and it is only used to confirm that you are a unique and legitimate user. It is FREE to verify your account. If you do not wish you verify your account, you can opt for pay-as-you-go services once you create your account.

If you are a student, you do not need to verify your account.
Why does a landlord need to link his/her Social Security Number (SIN)?
It is used to verify the legitimacy of user.
I represent a Canadian business. Am I required to provide my Social Insurance Number (SIN) / Numéro d'assurance sociale (NAS)?
We require identification to confirm that you are a representative of the business for which you are registering for. If you represent a Canadian business and do not feel comfortable providing your SIN / NAS, we are happy to take another form of government-issued identification.

Why do I have to provide my bank information?
To verify your landlord account and to set-up online rent payments directly to your bank account.
How can I switch my landlord account to a student account?
You can not switch your account. You will need to deactivate the current landlord account and then create a new account using your valid student email ID. This is necessary to maintain legitimacy of all users.
How do I register or create an account?
Are you a student or a homeowner/property management?

If you are a student, you need to register with your university email ID. It will allow you to use all the services for free. Check Student Coverage

Homeowners and property management (Housing providers) are welcome to request a 30 days free trial or verify their account to access all services for free.

Two-Factor Authentication
What is two-factor authentication?
You can add an extra layer of security to your login account by turning on the RAH two-factor authentication. Enabling this feature prevents others from using your account without your authorization and keeps all of your information secure.
How do I enable two-factor authentication?
To enable the two-factor authentication, you will need to first download the Google Authenticator application in your device, then go to your and click enable two-factor authentication and scan the bar code with your device using the Google Authenticator application. The Google Authenticator application will prompt a code you can use to activate the two-factor authentication in your account.
My authenticator application is no longer available/was deleted, and I can no longer authenticate my account.
RAH takes your account security seriously. You can request a temporary code by contacting us, and we will send you a temporary code you can use to log-in into your RAH account. It will allow you to reset or disable your two-factor authentication.
Reviews
Who can submit housing reviews?
Only a verified tenant account can submit reviews.
Do I need to pay to post a review?
There are no costs associated to view or submit reviews.
Can I delete my posted review?
You have 30 days from the day you submitted your review to delete or make changes.

Go to your Review by searching your property address or going to settings->postings->reviews.


Can I submit multiple reviews?
No. You can submit only one review at a time. To post a new review you need to wait for a while.
How can I delete negative reviews about my properties?
A landlord account can not delete reviews submitted by tenants. To improve your housing score, you will need to claim your property first and our team will help you improve its housing score.
Reviews written about my property are not true.
As a verified landlord account, you have the right to report/claim your properties and our team will help you solve it. If the submitted review violates our policy, the system will not publish it. See policies.
Claim Property
How can I claim a property address?
Only landlord accounts can claim a property/rental space. To make a claim, you must meet the following criteria:

Your tenant(s) must have submitted at-least one review on the specified property address.

Your tenant(s) must provide you the property rent through RAH platform.


How do I claim a rental space that has been claimed by someone else?
Contact us. Our customer care is available 24/7.
Recommendations
Who can submit Recommendations?
Only verified landlord accounts can submit recommendations.
Do I need to pay to write a Recommendation?
There are no costs associated with writing recommendations. It is a free service available to verified landlord accounts only.
Can I delete/edit my recommendation(s)?
You have 90 days from the day you submitted your recommendation to delete or make changes.


Can I submit multiple Recommendations?
You can only submit one recommendation per tenant.
Recommendations written about myself are not true.
You will need to report it to RAH. If the submitted recommendation violates our policy, it will be removed. See policies.
Listing
How much does it cost to advertise a rental space?
Listing price varies with account type.

Student-tenant account: unlimited and free listings.

Verified landlord account: unlimited and free listings.

How long is my listing valid for?
Each listing is valid for 90 days from the date it was submitted.
Can I edit my listings?
Yes, you can edit your listing before its expiry date.
Who has access to the listings I advertise?
Everyone can access your listings. However only student tenant accounts will be able to contact you.
How do potential tenants contact me?
Once your listing is published, only student tenant accounts will have access to your profile. Student tenants can send a viewing request via phone, email or RAH chat system. It is advised to all housing providers to keep their contact information updated all the time.
How to report a fake listing.
Each listing can be reported by clicking on the “report” button at the bottom of each post. If it violates our policy, it will be removed immediately.
Request Viewing
Who can request a viewing?
Only student users can request a viewing.
How does the request viewing feature work?
Only student users can initiate a request viewing through the request viewing button. Once clicked, it will notify the housing provider immediately, and the housing provider will have the option to propose multiple/specific times, and these timing will be introduced to the student user. Once the student user accepts, both parties will see this event in their calendar as a shared appointment. An early reminder will be sent to both parties before the scheduled viewing via email and in their news feeds.
I do not want to receive a request viewing.
Housing providers and student users can not opt-out of this feature unless the listed property is marked as rented or deleted.
Housing History Check
How can I check the housing history of a tenant or housing provider?
You will need the user’s RAH pin and registered email ID. Only verified accounts have access to housing histories. Create account now.
How can I delete my housing history?
You can not delete your housing history. If there is a misinformation regarding your housing history, report it to RAH.. If the content violates our policy or it is fraud, the system will remove it immediately.
Pay Rent (Tenants)
How can I pay rent through RAH?
It’s simple! Set-up your preferred payment method (credit/debit card) and add your housing provider. Only student tenant accounts can use this service.
How can I add a housing provider?
You will need your landlord's RAH pin and their registered email address associated to RAH account in your Settings.
Where can I find my transferred rent receipts?
Receipts are generated automatically. All your rent receipts will be stored in along with its status (either pending or completed).
How long will it take to process rent payments?
Rent payments are deposited immediately into your RAH housing provider's account.
I sent the wrong rent payment. How can I reverse/cancel it?
Once the rent payment is transferred, it can not be retrieved manually. To cancel please contact us.
Collect Rent (Housing Provider)
How can I collect rent?
Only verified landlord accounts can collect rent. Set-up your bank information and add your tenant.
How can I add a tenant?
You require your tenant's RAH pin and his registered email address associated to RAH account.
Where can I view my collected rent?
You can find the total pending collected amount by clicking Settings Rent To view total collected amount click
How long will it take to cash out RAH collected rent into my bank account?
It takes up to five business days to process rent payments.
I didn’t receive all rent payments after five business days.
If the total collected rent is over CAD 5000, it will be deposited in parts the following day. RAH can only process a maximum of CAD 5000 a day to prevent fraud.
There is an issue with my billing. How can I resolve this?
Contact us. Our customer care is available 24/7.
Financial Privacy
Is my credit card(s) and/or bank account information stored in RAH?
RAHousing doesn’t store any of your credit card(s) and/or bank information. We use a reliable third-party resource (STRIPE) to secure your financial information.
Will my personal financial information be shared with others?
Your financial information will not be shared with other users or companies. Only STRIPE has access to your information to be solely used for rent payments through RAH.
Messenger
Can I recover deleted chats?
You can not recover deleted chats.
Can I re-initiate a conversation with a user I have contacted before regarding a specific unit?
No, you can not connect with this user again if one of the parties decided to close that conversation for that specific property.
Calendar
What is a personal appointment?
It is an event that you created in your calendar which is private, and only you can view it. You can edit and set-it up to send you reminders/notifications.
What is a shared appointment?
A shared appointment is an event shared between you and another account (housing provider or tenant). Once it is created, you can not edit it, only delete. The other person will be notified if the shared appointment is deleted.
What will happen if I delete a shared appointment?
All parties will be notified immediately.
Can I edit a shared appointment?
You can not edit a shared appointment even if it was created by you. You can only delete it and a notification will be sent to the other party immediately.
Can I recover a deleted appointment?
No, you can not recover a deleted appointment.
Can you search for previously created appointments?
You can use the search bar to go to past created appointments.
Will you get reminders for shared and personal appointments?
Yes, you will get reminders for any appointments scheduled in your calendar.
Documents
What types of document files can I upload?
You can upload the following file formats: doc, docx, and pdf. You can share any of these files but can only sign pdf file format.
What is the difference between Original Docs, My Signed Docs, and User Signed Docs?
Original Docs are the saved documents uploaded by you.

My Signed Docs are the saved documents signed by you whether they were uploaded by you or sent from other users.

User Signed Docs are the saved documents that have been signed by other users.


Can I delete any documents?
Yes, you can download, delete, and share it as a link.
How can I request signature from other user?
When you go to your “Manage Documents” page under “Original Docs”, you can select any pdf file and request signature from other users when clicking sign options.
How can I sign a document?
You can only sign pdf files. When you click on sign options, it will allow you to sign this document or request other users to sign it. Only student and verified/paid landlord accounts can access this feature.
Will I be notified when someone signs a document I have requested them to sign?
Yes, you will be notified through your new feeds and via email when someone completes your signature request.
Will I have a copy of the documents I have signed for someone else?
You will see a saved signed copy for your records whether you or someone else signed it.
How many documents can I upload?
You have a maximum of ten spaces to upload original documents.
Can I request space to upload more than ten original documents?
Contact our customer service to request more space.
Notifications
How can I stop receiving notifications?
You can unsubscribe from receiving notifications through your settings.
